The Modern Home Design Process: Phase One

Concept & Programming

This initial phase marks the inception of our collaborative journey, where we embark on a quest to shape a distinctive concept that will serve as the cornerstone of the entire project. Here, we strike a delicate balance between the project's program – encompassing environmental and client constraints – and the realm of concepts, where creativity knows no bounds. This is the time for bold imaginings, where chance encounters spark ingenious solutions and where conventional boundaries are pushed aside.

Concurrently, we immerse ourselves in understanding your aspirations, the trajectory of sunlight, regulatory frameworks, coveted vistas, project timelines, and budgetary considerations. Through this intricate process, our initial sketches evolve into refined visions, finely tuned to harmonize with the multifaceted demands of the project. These refined concepts are translated into a series of meticulously crafted diagrams, serving as the blueprint to articulate the spatial narrative of your future home, thoughtfully tailored to meet your unique needs.

What To Expect

Our initial presentation consists of minimalist diagrams that articulate our strategies for addressing three fundamental challenges: Client Constraints, Environmental Considerations, and Concepts. These diagrams serve as the foundation for the spatial organization of the entire project, providing a clear understanding of our design approach.

What We Need

Before initiating the Concept & Programming Phase, we engage in understanding both you and your property. To facilitate this, we request that each new client complete a PRE-DESIGN QUESTIONNAIRE. Click to Submit. This document aids us in comprehending your specific program needs, budget considerations, expected timeline, and your envisioned lifestyle in the new space.

Additionally, we require access to the property, a comprehensive site survey, and authorization to communicate with the relevant municipal authorities on your behalf. Finally, to commence the custom home design process, we finalize the arrangement with a signed contract and receipt of the deposit.
